This policy covers cascadiaascent.com and the recruiting and engineering services of Cascadia Ascent LLC. Our apps have their own policies, linked above.
The short version. We collect very little. There are no accounts on this site and no database behind it: the contact form simply emails your message to us. Everything else lives in the services we use to run the business, which are named below.
What we collect
- When you contact us: your name, email, company and message, and which service you're interested in.
- If you're a candidate: your résumé, work history, contact details, and notes from our conversations, including what you tell us about the roles, pay and locations you're looking for.
- If you're a client: business contact and billing details. Invoices and payments go through our client portal, run by Zoho, under Zoho's own privacy policy.
- When you visit the site: basic technical data such as your IP address, browser and the pages requested, in the request logs kept by Cloudflare, which hosts the site. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare may use strictly necessary security cookies or similar checks to tell people from bots.
How we use it
We use your information to answer you, deliver the work you've hired us for, match candidates with roles, send invoices, and keep the website working. We don't use it for anything you wouldn't expect from a small recruiting and engineering firm.
Who we share it with
- Hiring companies, when you're a candidate and you've agreed to be put forward for a specific role.
- Service providers who help us run the business. Each handles your information only to provide its service to us, under its own privacy policy:
- Cloudflare hosts and protects this website, checks contact-form submissions for spam (Turnstile) and forwards email sent to our address.
- Zoho delivers contact-form messages to us and runs our invoicing and client portal.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
How long we keep it
As little as we can, for only as long as we need it.
- Messages and inquiries stay in our email while we're talking with you, and for as long as we're working together after that.
- Candidate details stay with us while we're helping you find a role, and for as long as you want to hear about new ones. Ask to be removed and we'll delete them.
- Client and billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Our service providers keep their own records, such as request logs and delivery logs, under their own policies.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and candidates can ask to be removed from our network at any time. Email us and we'll take care of it. These choices are yours wherever you live. If the law where you live gives you further rights, such as in California or Washington, we'll honor those too. We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of.
Children
Our website and services are for businesses and working adults, not children.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above.
